|Subject: Re: B&Bs in Texas|
We stayed in Gruene (pronounced Green), Texas a few years ago at a relatively new B&B. Gruene is next to New Braunfels and about 20 to 30 minutes north of San Antonio. Gruene reminded me of a quaint little town from the northeast. The place had 14 rooms as I recall and each of the rooms had a theme of its own, e.g., New York, Log Cabin, Indian Tent. It also had its own movie theater downstairs complete with a popcorn machine. It was delightful. By the way, at that point Gruene was the Toobing Capital of the World. The town sits high overlooking the Guadalupe River and below you could see people getting in rented "toobs" (inner tubes) to begin a float down the Guadalupe.
