|Subject: Re: Bryce and Grand Canyon camping trip|
I'm not a camper, but I will be taking a road trip with my daughter in August with Utah as our destination. (I will fly from NYC to Montgomery, AL to meet her, and then we will head west. She is doing summer stock in Cedar City, UT).
We are somewhat flexible with time and this is our loose itinerary so far: 1. leave Alabama and drive to New Mexico (I want to revisit the Santa Fe/Taos area for a day or so) 2. drive up thru the 4 Corners area to Moab, UT - do Arches, Canyonlands Nat'l Park, - 2 days? 3. continue up and around and come down to Bryce (1 day?). 4. End up in Cedar City.
I will be flying back from las vegas (not looking forward to that part!). I've never been to the grand canyon, but my daughter was there last summer. We thought the parks in Utah would be interesting. Here's a funny question: I am deathly afraid of heights - especially driving along mountain roads, etc. with or without guardrails. Is this trip going to be a major problem?
Anyway, enjoyed your post and I'm looking forward to the canyons.
