Marco,
You will find that it is very difficult to get around cottage country
in Ontario without a car. The Penetang and Midland Coach Line, which
leaves from Toronto's bus station, will get you there but once you
arrive you will find yourself hostage to the local taxi or bus service.
If you decide to visit Collingwood, you may want to stay at the Beild House. Collingood is a year round resort, but you will still need a car to visit the countryside. Here's the website for the bed and breakfast: http://www.beildhouse.com/ You could visit Bracebridge, which is the heart of the Muskoka country, stay at the Riverside Inn, and explore the country around. Also check the web for places to stay in Gravenhurst and Bala. Here's the site for the hotel in Bracebridge: http://www.bracebridge.com/riverside/ Also Your choice of Awenda Park is a good one, but you should know that our provincial parks fill up very early in the season. You have to reserve a space and they are at a premium so if you haven't booked by early May you may find yourself without a place to stay. I don't want to put you off and will try to think of other places you can visit to enjoy the great Canadian outdoors (as I hope other Ontario Ziners will do). This is a beautiful part of the world and we wouldn't want to have you go home without having experienced the Ontario cottage country experience.
