I have Travelpro. I think it is less expensive than Tumi, and it is durable. The wheels are like in-line skate wheels and are recessed so they don't get caught on things. The larger size that I have is expandable, but I don't know if they have an expandable carry-on size. My carry-on is not expandable. (I have not yet managed to travel with only a carry-on.)

Lands' End has a large selection of varying sizes and fabrics for luggage. I only have their briefcase style bag, and it has taken quite a beating. Can't speak about the rest of it, but everything I have ever had from Lands' End has lasted for years and years.
