Subject: Bali, Hong Kong, Macau |
Good morning Ziners -- I wrote earlier about Cathay Pacific's deal to
Bali. Thanks to all who responded.
We went for it! Leave NY 11/10, arrive HK 11/12, overnight in HK, then to Bali on 11/13. There we have a timeshare at Peninsula Beach Resort at Nusa Dua. We leave 11/20 for four nights in HK, returning to NY 11/24. We will welcome advice: Thinking of going to Ubud for one or two nights. Wondering what transport is available. Also welcome advice for lodging. We don't need luxury, but want cleanliness and air conditioning. Found a place on the net called Taman Harum which looks good (according to their website!). Our NY to HK flight arrives 7:55am and we leave the next day for Bali at 10:05am. We've not been to HK since the new airport opened and wonder where to stay for that night. We're staying mostly as a jet- lag recovery time, so "doing" HK is unimportant. About our stop in HK on the way home, we'd like hotel advice (again - clean, AC, not luxurious - we do have Marriott points we could burn). We'd like to do Macau. Is a day-trip enough (no interest in gambling)? If not - lodging suggestions? That weekend is the Grand Prix. I so far have been unable to find info about how to see the race. We'll probably just avoid Macau until the Grand Prix is over, but might go to the race on Sunday if I knew more about how to get a place from which to view it. Thanks in advance for your suggestions.
