Subject: Re: Intra Europe Luggage Allowance

Having just returned from Europe with carryon luggage & a stopover, I can offer only a little light for the allowance situation.

It depends.

That's it! You never know. On our outbound journey, we were able to carry on our luggage, tho my friend's was pushing the weight & size limits. On our inbound journey, when we had a stop over in London, she had to check that same bag (tho it had gained a kilo or two with purchases!). Same airline in each case.

The tickets, however, were separate: frequent flyer freebies over the Atlantic & purchased tix within the UK. This can sometimes make a difference, but I've known many instances when travelers with through tickets had luggage difficulties with the intra-Europe portion of the trip.

It just depends.
