Subject: Re: Paris Walks -- the Marais walk in particular |
Paris travelers,
We've taken several Paris Walks, including both walks in the Marais. As others have written, the guide shows up about five minutes ahead of time, and is wearing a badge, carrying brochures, and, even more importantly, collecting money for the walk. The crowd is an English- speaking one, so it's easy to find the assembled group, and then wait for the guide. I'd recommend all of the walks. We took one in an area that we thought we knew well -- Ile de la Cite -- and were surprised by how much we found out about it. For example, have you ever noticed the lines on the pavement in front of Notre Dame that represent the old streets? We certainly hadn't.
