No, we didn't eat "Whoppers" at Burger King, but I used that as an example which which Americans and others could relate to price wise.
As for what locals eat, there's standing room only at McDonalds and Burger King and of course, mostly "local" kids are there. Regular restaurants where the "locals" ate are even more exorbitant. We went to an average Indian restaurant in London where there were only "locals" and a very average meal, nothing exceptional and no wine cost us $75 if that gives you any idea. Does this help?
