Subject: Re: Trip to Australia in November
Terry, We spent a month in Australia and took advantage of the Ansett Air travel pass. I think the carrier is out of business now. However it looks like Quantas offers a similar deal. A word of advice: You are travelling so far, so stretch your budget as far as you can to fly between cities because Australia is a fabulous country to visit. Like Canada, it is big and if you want to get a flavour of it, you will have to fly. Talk to a travel agent about buying an air pass. It's worth it.

Living in Toronto, a large multi-cultural city, we loved Melbourne with its varied ethnic culture. You will eat well there. To us, Sydney was just another big city. Adelaide is sleepy, but it opens up into to beautiful countryside.

We stayed in Yulara for two nights - it's the Ayers Rock resort - because we were midway in our trip and needed a rest. We had a great time there. I would recommend a visit to King Canyon. It's a beautiful spot.

We really liked Darwin, gateway to the Kakadu and Litchfield Park and it was one of the stranger places we have visited in our travels.

Australians are very welcoming and wonderful hosts. You will have a great time no matter where you visit. Lucy, Toronto
