Subject: Re: Celebrations while travelling
Hi Ziners I must reply to Sally's message for two reasons.

First, I was completely taken aback by the marigolds in the Kathmandu market and around the temples. It is a vivid sea of yellow and orange. One of the most beautiful images I have in my mind from my travels.

Second, I stumbled on a cremation ceremony in Kathmandu and it was peaceful. At first, I didn't know what was going on and then when I realized what was happening, I wanted to walk away but I was entranced by the ceremony. All the attendants were women and they didn't mind my presence. I am accustomed to rowdy Celtic funerals and this was completely out of my experience. It stays in my mind after many years.
