Hi Sybil & Ziners,
We definitely agree with Sandy about the Courtyard Marriott. Good location although the prices are going up. One block away is a sausage/hot dog/kielbasa stand that looks uninviting but the food is excellent for what it is. For steakhouses our preference is Chicago Chophouse. Gibsons Steakhouse is not a tourist-friendly dining establishment as they bend and break their rules to accommodate local politicians. The Oak Park/Frank LLoyd Wright tour departing from the Hancock Tower is well worth the time. Also enjoyable were The Museum of Science and Industry, Chicago Art Institute and Museum of Natural History (Sue the T-Rex). When the Cubs are out of town, tours are offered of Wrigley Field with the proceeds benefiting Women's Shelters. The night cruise on Lake Michigan is fun and educational. Enjoy, Vince in Philadelphia, waiting for the floodwaters to recede |
