I agree with Candice about Zagat's. I always check restaurants out in Zagat's.... it's very handy and easy to read. I have a subscription to the online guide, and they sent me the paperback guide for filling out a survey on Paris. I've used the online guide for Paris, Chicago, and New Orleans. I use a combination of personal recommendations, guide books, and books written specifically with restaurants in mind, such as Patricia Wells' book, _The Food Lover's Guide to Paris_ and _Paris by Bistro: A Guide to Eating Well_. I also like the website, http://www.cityvox.com for Paris, which is good for countries other than France, as well.
