I decided to take a longer weekend and visit my parents in the Algarve (http://www.algarve.org/). The sun is shinning, the water is cool, the caipirinhas are great, I want to stay here forever.
I am in Tavira (http://www.portugalvirtual.pt/_tourism/algarve/tavira/) and it is being held here a pastry fair. Just to make you a little envy, I already had "bolo de figo", fig cake, "bolo de amendoa", almond cake, and I'm having a hard time deciding what to eat next. They do have a excelent "bolo de mel", honey cake, so I think I'll bet on that one.
We're also haing a Fado (http://www.atl-turismolisboa.pt/guide/fado/o_fado_uk.htm) singing contest. "Silencio que se vai cantar o fado", which means, "Let there be silence, for Fado is being sung"
That's all for now. Bye, Rui from Lisbon (temporarily in Tavira)
