Since you will touring the Dupont Mansion, allow me to reccomend properties that were part of the DuPont empire at one time

Longwood Gardens, a beautiful and large garden and greenhouses. Much walking but worth it.

Winterthur an enchantingling preserved country mansion.

If the Doublewood Hotel is on Broad St(Avenue of the Arts) accross the street is The Bellevue-Stratford Hotel, site of the first Legionaires Disease Outbreak. Now it is a upscale hotel with a Palm Restaurant and Zanzibar Blue Jazz Club.

More uptown is the Phila Museum of Art and nearby is the Eastern State Penitentiary an 1800's prison now a museum. In this area are some wonderful eateries, including The London Grille and Jack's Firehouse(Jack MacDavid from Food TV' Grillin & Chillin).

In the Old City Area is the Lights of Liberty AV walking tour. National Constitution Center. a brand new interactive center on the American Constitution.

Independence Hall where America had it's inception. These above two areas also include the Liberty Bell

The Philadelphia Cheesesteak, not for the calorie or fat conscious are available on must any corner in Philadelphia. Those worth a cab ride include The 9th street market also offers varieties of spices, cheeses, fruits etc.

During your visit the Walnut Street Theater will be into it's 195th year of public theater Getting around Philly is fairly easy using Septa the offer an online trip planner

The Philly Phlash is a wonderful service to see the big attraction in the city.

North of the city where we live and above is Washington Crossing's State Park, Historic and a beautiful ride for fall foliage.

This just touches the surface of the Pa, Delaware area. There is New Jersey with the casinos and beaches.

Keep in mind for planning purposes there will be a big rock concert in Philly and in Wilkes Barre PA both on Friday October 1.
