Since you will touring the Dupont Mansion, allow me to reccomend properties that were part of the DuPont empire at one time

If the Doublewood Hotel is on Broad St(Avenue of the Arts) accross the street is The Bellevue-Stratford Hotel, site of the first Legionaires Disease Outbreak. Now it is a upscale hotel with a Palm Restaurant and Zanzibar Blue Jazz Club.

More uptown is the Phila Museum of Art http://www.philamuseum.org/main.asp and nearby is the Eastern State Penitentiary http://www.easternstate.org/ an 1800's prison now a museum. In this area are some wonderful eateries, including The London Grille and Jack's Firehouse(Jack MacDavid from Food TV' Grillin & Chillin).

This just touches the surface of the Pa, Delaware area. There is New Jersey with the casinos and beaches.

Keep in mind for planning purposes there will be a big rock concert in Philly and in Wilkes Barre PA both on Friday October 1.
