Yes, I am speaking about GPS devices. They are becoming much more fascinating as their accuracy is improving as time goes on. The plans for several more frequencies, L2, L3, L4 and L5, will mean that future GPS devices will be capable of ascertaining location within buildings and within feet. For the time being, however, the portable mapping devices similar to the in-vehicle devices are relatively expensive. A hand held GPS device at less than $500 will give you good information on your location, but the truly accurate turn by turn directions are usually missing.
