Subject: Re: Providence RI eats
Hi Al,

I can attest to the fine food at Al Forno--haven't tried the other two you mentioned. I can recommend a restaurant called Walter's; it's on Federal Hill (which is the Italian neighborhood that has several restaurants along with a couple of tattoo parlors and a Chinese restaurant???-- anyway---Walter's specialties include Jewish Italian foods. His restaurant and recipes have been written about extensively. There's a lot of cooking in clay for example. We have never been disappointed in our meals there.

If it's Italian food you're after, closer to Boston on Route 1 in Norwood is a new restaurant, Bon Caldo, that serves outstanding regional Italian food and wine. One of the chefs worked at Le Cirque in NYC, which may say something about the quality of the preparation. We've dined there twice already and plan several more visits to sample more of their exquisite food.

Buon Appetito! Sue in Sharon, MA
