|Subject: Lanzarote, a winter destination?|
A useful report from the Telegraph for anyone considering visiting Lanzarote in the Canary Islands, especially in the winter. Evidently the average temperature in December to February is 21C. The author says that it offers more than any of the other Canary Islands: "The scenery is otherworldly: peaks of dormant volcanoes, coloured russet, lime-green and off-white, rise above fields covered in a layer of black volcanic gravel (called picon) in which farmers are able to grow crops and even vines." But he talks about the downsides too.
