Subject: Re: farmhouse near siena
Hello Barry, I have stayed at Poggio Oliveto twice, May of 2002 and 2003. http://www.poggiooliveto.it/

It's a beautiful farm property about an hour's drive from Siena. We took several day trips to surrounding hilltowns such as San Gimignano, as well as of course Siena and Florence. We even found a train trip into Rome (about 2 hours) to be quite easy.

The place is family run, the manager Massimo is incredibly friendly and only too happy to offer suggestions or give you a tour of the farm. They grow watermelons, canteloupes and make olive oil, all of which are delicious. I would highly recommend them to anyone.
