Subject: Re: Vietnam

Actually, the American Embassy that was in Saigon when the American War ended and the helicopters lifted off from the roof is not there. The site is there, and there is a low rise building next to the land where the building was. It is not an embassy, but a consulate. The American Embassy in Vietnam is in Hanoi.

I found all of our trip to Vietnam interesting. The Vietnamese look forward rather than back, although you will find a war museum that is quite depressing from my point of view. Hanoi is truly the more beautiful city, but, as an American of "that generation", I found Saigon more compelling. Although the official name is Ho Chi Minh City, we found that most of the people there still refer to it as Saigon.
