Thanks for your request for clarification! There are
probably other mystified Ziners who would appreciate knowing
what "First Nations" means. In Canada, Native people,
Indians, or Aboriginal people prefer to be called "First
Nations", signifying that they are the first peoples of this
land. The term has enjoyed increasing useage as Land Claims
negotiations have been instigated between various Indian
communities and Provincial and Federal governments.
Having worked with many Native people here in B.C. for the
last 25 years, I am curious about the first peoples of
Australia, the Aborigines, and how they are faring these
