Hi Ziners - We're planning a 21 day trip to Italy next May.
We need advice as to whether the following sounds too
ambitious. Thinking of flying to Rome and staying there for
one day, then on by train to Sienna where we'd be based for
about four days seeing it and a few hill towns. Then, by
train to Venice for two full days there, after which we'd
take another train down to Naples, and be based on the
Amalfi Coast for about 4 days. Would like to take the
overnight ferry from Naples to Palermo, possibly joining a
small group tour to see highlights of Sicily. Lastly, while
we don't want to rent a car for inter-city travel, we'd
consider renting a car in Tuscany and the Amalfi coast, to
visit the local small towns. Is this a good idea?
