Hi to Frances and to all Ziners,
From my own experience, in well-developed places you don't
need any guides - just pick up a map at the tourist office
and you'll find everything and will enjoy on your own -
stopping whenever you want and going on you pace. From most
of the places you can take a bus to your lodging. It'll
allow you to enjoy without spending large sums of money and
with flexibility saved. The only worthful recommendation -
is to pick up your cellular phone for the case of emergency.
