Here is an article from the Observer (UK) suggesting that Ryanair is moving towards eliminating checked baggage entirely. For cabin baggage, their current limit is one piece at 10 kilos, and their Web site suggests that this is not in addition to a personal item as this is understood in the U.S.; one would think this would change if they stop allowing checked baggage. This will be something to consider before planning to take Ryanair's cheap flights within Europe.
