|Subject: Re: Rude locals|
I suppose there are rude people everywhere and some people are just not suited to the hospitality industry. We encountered behaviour that might be classed as rude in Switzerland but we ignored it and moved on. And I must jump in and tell you that New Yorkers are not rude. They're just big city, busy people. We travel to NYC regularly and are always encouraged by the interesting people we meet. We've made friends there through our visits. If you like big cities, visit New York and I guarantee you'll have a wonderful time.
One of our New York friends tells us he doesn't understand Torontonians, who appear to him to be cold and distant. Canadians sometimes equate aloof behaviour as being polite. Chacun a son gout, as we say in Canada.
