I just finished Michener's 2-volume novel "The Covenant". It's a wonderful historical story of South Africa. I've also enjoyed two novels about South Africa by Alan Paton. One was "Cry, the beloved country". Loved it. The other, I think, was "Ah, but your land is beautiful". Alas, there was a book by Paton that didn't captivate me. There surely is something about South Africa that calls to me.
