Hi Ann,
You said you are planning to visit Prince Edward Island. PEI is a beautiful place, with friendly people, small towns and great beaches. We camped in the National Park near Cavendish Beach near Green Gables. Of course, we visited Green Gables but also Lucy Maud Montgomery's birthplace at New London. For more information about Anne and L.M. Montgomery, try the Literary Traveler site: http://tinyurl.com/5nalj We enjoyed kite flying on the beach and a beach walk with park naturalists. http://tinyurl.com/5xhdb We also enjoyed a lobster church supper and some tea shops. I think that we visited this one: St. Ann's Church Lobster Suppers (tel. 902/621-0635) We don't golf but PEI golf courses are famous. Bicycling is popular on the small roads too. Lots of small provincial museums in PEI. http://www.gov.pe.ca/peimhf/index.php3 In the capital, Charlottetown, we enjoyed the musical Anne of Green Gables and the visit to Province House, the birthplace of Canada. There are various walking tours and reenactments. http://www.visitcharlottetown.com/ http://www.gov.pe.ca/visitorsguide/index.php3 I found an interesting site - Mile By Mile.com Worth exploring for other areas too. The site covers the US, Mexico and Canada. http://tinyurl.com/5kjcm Although craft shops abound, you might consider taking home some Paderno pots - made in Prince Edward Island. http://www.paderno.com/home.htm Have a great time!
