Subject: Re: Egypt
Hi, Pauline,

We were also always budget independent travelers until we decided to go to Egypt. We ended up going with Overseas Adventure Travel in spring of 2000. It was a fantastic trip! Their groups are only 10-16 people, the guides are native Egyptian Egyptologists, the price included airfare, great accomodations, all admissions, all transportation within Egypt, most meals and a 4 night Nile cruise. Also, they offer an extension to Jordan which includes Amman, Jerash, Dead Sea, and Petra (which we had always wanted to visit). On our trip, there ended up being just one other couple doing the Jordan extension--so for 5 days the four of us had our own guide and van with driver! We felt that having the whole trip so well organized and planned really made the very best use of our time there. And you could always opt out of something and do your own thing if you wanted. We have since done 2 other great trips with OAT, and on all three, the other people in the groups have been true travel junkies, used to doing independent travel, easy going, and fun to travel with --and have great stories to share. Ages have ranged from late 30's to 70's.
