|Subject: Re: Avignon and Zurich tips needed|
You were asking about restaurants in Avignon & Zurich. I've been using the Cityvox site http://tinyurl.com/6uvrw as one of my planning tools (going to Paris & Provence in late May for a few weeks).
It is especially good for getting diner ratings/reviews of restaurants, and the ratings are dine along 3 criteria: friendliness/greeting, decor/ambience, and price/value. You can select language for the site, but for some reason, only the French version will permit you to search by restaurant name ("mot-cle" in the little box at the top of the page).
Also, the "practical information" or "information pratique" will provide the address, hours, price range, etc. The site is a little bit slow loading, but usually worth the wait.
Most of the reviews are in French, which is good practice for the real thing!
The site purports to cover all of Europe, but you will find the best information only on France. The restaurant reviews are useful, while the hotel reviews and other information are not that great.
Hope this helps!
