|Subject: Winter Carnival of Quebec City|
Hi Greg and Ziners,
As citizens of Quebec city,we want
to help you for a pleasing visit for the Carnival.
First you should have in your luggage: boots, hat, scarf
and coat. February is rarely warm...
We suggest you to stay in the center because all acti- vities are concentrated in a small area between Youville Square and the Plains of Abraham. The Plains of Abraham are the backyard of Loews Le Concorde Hotel. But it is expensive... Http://www.loewshotels.com
An other option is the Café Krieghoff on Cartier street. It is about 15 minutes on foot from Ice Castle of Bonhomme. It seems comfortable and the restaurant is downstairs. Cartier street is beautiful and you will feel less as a tourist. Http://www.cafekrieghoff.qc.ca We suggest you to make your room reservation as soon as possible.
For your information, the first night parade is in Charlesbourg streets, but easy to reach by bus from the center (10 minutes). You take Metrobus line. The web site of Carnival Organisation Http://www.carnaval.qc.ca
Don't forget in February we have sometimes very low temperatures (-20 to -30 Celsius)and accumulation of snow may be 20 to 30 centemeters and more.. If you need more informations,we will be happy to help you.
Joyeux Carnaval (Happy Carnival)
