Several years ago we were in Aswan and did the flight to Abu Simbel - I thought it was worth it. Very Impressive, particuarly when you realize all the effort that went into saving these artifacts. I don't recall the flight was that expensive, but then we flew back to Cairo which made have made a difference.

Can't comment on the Jorden aspect - will be there in May but as part of a Jordon-Syria-Lebanon tour.
