Frances (and everyone else looking for cheaper food),
Try and time your visit to Harrod's food hall near lunch time. Their take-out sandwiches are fantastic. And surprisingly cheap (by London standards). They're cheaper than the Pret-a-porter almost opposite. Of course, where to sit and eat is a challenge, but there are some public seats if you walk down towards the Victoria & Albert museum (which, of course, is also worth a visit too - and free!). Or if there's an auction on at Bonham's there are indoor seats there - although that can become expensive if you wave your hands around while eating (but they do have wine auctions too - so that may work out even better). Good chowing is a worthwhile pursuit! Alan & Catherine |
