|Subject: Re: Digital Cameras on a long trip - Need help!|
One thing I will mention - always have two batteries with you. It is a pricey investment but well worth the expense. I spent 2 1/2 weeks in Italy last year, first time with a 6.3 megapixel digital camera - all my shots were taken in large. I kept my spare battery in my knapsack always ready if I needed it. I charged the battery that I was using every night without fail and I never had a problem. I took several 512 cards, also a large investment. I was able store over 1200 pictures (about 150 per card at maximum capacity) and did not have to rely on anyone but myself. It worked for me - I would not hesitate to follow the same pattern on my next trip. The few times that I attempted to have my stuff burned onto a CD was such a time waster that I gave up this approach early on.
