Greetings, Lucy,
Y'all have a lovely and diverse trip plan! I had to go trace it on a map to see what ground you were covering. Along your route, from Ballybunion to Galway (have you discovered the route planner here? http://www.aaroadwatch.ie/routes/ it's a great site all around), I will suggest two things that were highlights of our '03 roadtrip: the Cliffs of Moher (of course! I could go there again and again) and a Burren walk led by Shane Connolly. You can find lots of raves about him and exploring the Burren on the 'net. You will see Ballyvaughan, home base for Shane's walks, in County Clare on the coast road north of the Cliffs and under an hour's drive time south of the town of Galway. If you decide the timing is right for an overnight in the area, we can highly recommend The Drumcreehy House. If nothing more, take a look at the Attractions & Activities section of their website--very helpful. http://homepage.tinet.ie/~burrenhillwalks/index.html http://www.drumcreehyhouse.com/ Have fun researching your trip!
