In addition to the ones in Vicenza, there are many interesting villas along the Brenta river, on the old road from Padua to Venice. You can drive along or take a guided tour, either by boat or by bus. Some of them are open to public, like Villa Pisani in Stra, Villa Widmann in Mira and the famous Villa Foscari in Malcontenta, but you can see many many others from the outside. The main road bears a heavy traffic, but there are side roads along the river which allow a more leisurely exploration of the area.
