Depending on where I'm going, I normally use Rick Steves, Rough Guide or Lonely Planet. LP's India is a gem; I used RG for Cairo but LP for Egypt. LP was used for China and Beijing; RG for St Petersburg for LP for Moscow and Eastern Europe. Rick Steves for most of Europe though I must admit I used Frommer's for Greece and Scandinavia. I also collect material from the national tourist offices, the internet and newspapers. I'm also on the mailing list for various tour companies so I use their material to put something together or decide to go with one of their agendas.
