Subject: Re: The best travel guidebooks
Hello All!

Several years ago while sitting in cafe in Paris at Montmarte watching the painters and tourists I surveyed the guidebook situation.

The top two by a LONG shot were the Eyewitness Guides and Rick Steves. Eyewitness won by virtue of being available in several languages so it was carried by tourists from various countries.

Personally I enjoy the Eyewitness and have converted my mother. She actually sprang for one in spite of what she called an absurb price.
