Looking at the picture of the future ROM, I would have to disagree with Peter Payan. I personally have yet to actually visit the ROM (some day...) but how many unique and beautiful architectural museums are around the world? That is what makes them stand out. Judging from the picture, half the museum will remain with its classic architecture, which is beautiful too, while having this awesome exploding new front. I think it would look great and it just makes the ROM take another step up into the wonderful international (and diverse) scene that is the art world. When you go to art/culture galleries would you only want to look at classical and historic paintings, or enjoy Picasso and other unique cubist and modern artists? I know I do!
