Subject: Travel Related Medical Question |
Good afternoon Ziners,
I have a question particularly directed to fellow Canadian travelers. As we all know, since 9/11 airport security is much more rigorous especially in the areas of metal detection. I have just had a new artificial knee replacement (steel and plastic, I believe) and I'm wondering what travel problems I might encounter. I am having a second knee replacement in June and we already have plans to travel to Mexico for the month of February in 2006. My daughter said she had heard of a friend of theirs who had two metal plates recently put in his knees and he had to have some kind of a special travel card. Do any of you have any particulars regarding this or where I might go for advice. Obviously, I'm going to set off the metal detectors!! Thanks for your help. Pat Chatham, ON |
