Subject: Re: Too much planning?
Greetings Ziners!

I have found that I like to compromise between planning ahead of time and being spontaneous. This is easy for me since I like to stay in one place for 3-5 days before moving on. I usually book my room ahead of time. This saves me the time and trouble of having to find a room. It also means that I can stop along the way and arrive late at my destination, without having to worry about securing a room.

Since I am in an area for several days, I can learn more about it and take advantage of events and places that I didn't learn about at home. In particular, I remember spending 3 days in the Orvieto area investigating small towns and little wineries that I would have never learned about doing research at home.
