Hello Ziners,
We are travelling to Portugal for the first time soon
- arriving in Porto on April 4 and then travelling
down the coast to Coimbra, Nazare and surroundings, to
Evora then Luz on the Algarve where we have rented a
townhouse for a week from April 9. We then return to
Lisbon for 4 days before flying home from there. My
questions are: do we need to reserve accommodation
ahead or can we find rooms once there? Has anyone
stayed in a pensao or residencial in the city centres
of Porto, Coimbra, Lisbon or Evora that they could
recommend? We (3 adults) have reserved a car from the
Porto airport but wonder what the drive into the city
would be like and wonder if it wouldn't be better to
go by bus and then train it to Coimbra and pick up a
rental car there? We plan to return the rental car on
entry to Lisbon and again I wonder about hours of
operation since it would be a Saturday afternoon and
how easy it would be to find our way in to drop of the
car somewhere? Thanks for any information.
