Subject: Re: Transportation Westchester Airport to Manhattan
Lucy,

The easiest way to get from HPN (Westchester Airport) to a destination in Manhattan is via taxi.

This is definitely NOT the economical choice, however. The mass transit alternative would be to take a taxi from HPN to the train station in White Plains, about 7 miles away. Metro North trains run frequently on the Harlem line from there directly to Grand Central Station. Fare (without senior or student discount) is $6.25 one way off peak, $8.50 peak IF you buy the ticket at the station. If you wait to buy it on the train, the fare almost doubles. The ride to Grand Central takes about 40-45 minutes. Schedule information available at http://as0.mta.info/mnr/schedules/sched_form.cfm

Once you get to Grand Central, taxi, subway or walking will easily get you to your final destination.

Cheers, Mark in Los Angeles
