Subject: Grenada and Canada |
Hi Ziners!
I have been a member for several months and have enjoyed reading all the comments and travel tips. Thanks to all! In May my husband and I have the opportunity to catch up with some friends sailing in the Caribbean, probably off Grenada. Can any one recommend accommodation on Grenada or Carriacou and also in San Juan? How many days would be sufficient to spend in San Juan to see the main sights - 2 or would 3-4 be better? To the Ziner who is planning to drive to Whitehorse. My husband and I drove from Canmore AB to Nova Scotia last July. The drive around the north side of Lake Superior is spectacular - hard to fathom just how big the Great Lakes are. There is not a lot to see in Manitoba and Saskatchewan but once you are in Alberta if you are interested in dinosaurs a trip to The Tyrrell Museum in Drumheller is worth the effort. Once in Calgary the only way to go is via Banff, Lake Louise, and the Icefield Parkway to Jasper! To the Ziner who is planning to go to the Maritimes. Just a few of our highlights were The Founder's Hall in Charlottetown, The Cabot Trail, Fortresss of Louisberg, Halifax, Lunenburg, Annapolis Royal in Nova Scotia; Fort Beausejour, the Acadian Village, Caraquet and the lobster in New Brunswick. We did not make any reservations before hand and had no problems (there were 4 of us looking for 2 rooms) but this year the 4 of us are going to Newfoundland in July and we are pre-booking everything!!! I have tried to keep this fairly short - if anyone would like more info re: driving across Canada and places to stay drop me an email. Cheers! Val in Perth until mid-April |
