My husband and I are headed out to Vancouver, WA (directly across the Columbia River from Portland, OR) tomorrow, to visit one of our daughters. The 10-day forecast shows rain every day. They tend to laugh at people who use umbrellas out there, so we do as they do and sport raingear. In fact, I even tend to get tired of opening and closing an umbrella here, so I only use it when it's absolutely teeming.

Like Joan, however, I will protect my camera with an umbrella when taking a picture. They can laugh all they want.
