Subject: Re French in Action
Ziners:

I used to watch French in Action on PBS when I lived in Washington, and taped most of the 50 episodes. Alas, I left all the videos in storage in DC when we moved to Paris. Oh, how I wish I had them here, I might have actually learned the language! (After 4 1/2 years in France, I am still woefully unskilled in conversation; my reading skill is somewhat better).

For those unacquainted with the series, it's a story about a French girl and an American student. The story line goes off the deep end toward the end of the series as Mireille and Robert go off on adventures, but it's a fun way and effective way to learn the language.

(Trivial factoid: the actress who played Mireille went on to star in some soft-core porn films!)

Anyway, if you have the time before traveling to France, and have access to the videos, they should prove a great help. (The Website has free video on demand, but I haven't had a chance to check that out.)

Bons voyages! Evan in Paris
