|Subject: Re: Credit card vs. check|
Hi Leslie (and everyone),
The tour company is Discover France, with U.S. office in Arizona. I called my credit card company for info and they said a 3 1/2 percent charge was legal if the company told me about it up front. I'm not planning on trip insurance (too expensive) so I thought the credit card would give me a bit more protection.
The company is encouraging me to pay by online check, which carries no fee. It would be nice to save the 60 dollar surcharge on the credit card, but I'm afraid that a check won't be as protective. (The company has rigorous agreements about trip cancellation, so I'm not even sure a c.c. would give me much leverage).
I have to pay by Monday, so advice would be welcome! Best, Didi in Boston
