Subject: Re: Online Hotel Reservations
Hi Bettina and Ziners,

I'll add my 2 cents to the mix. I've booked through both Priceline (very happy 3 times with "mystery" hotels) and twice with http://hotels.com .

The first time with Hotel.com worked out fine -- the second time I'll know when I get there! Booked a hotel in central Tokyo for June. The price was MUCH less than the hotel website ($124 a night for a 3-star in a great location with wonderful reviews on http://tripadvisor.com ).

Hotels.com's policy is pay in advance but cancel up to 24 hours in advance for a $25 penalty only. I find that to be fair, considering the money I saved and the impossibility of calling the hotel in Japan to try and get a better rate.

I'll let y'all know what happens when I get back . . .
