Subject: Re: Charleston Accommodations
Hi Jennie;

If you are unable to find something suitable in the historic district, I would recommend Springhill Suites Charleston Riverview on the west side of the Ashley River. We were there about a month ago and were quite pleased with the location, amenities and price. They're currently showing availability for $116 for this weekend. The Residence Inn shares the same property plus the Hampton Inn across the marina also looked fine. It's surrounded by green space which we enjoyed, and in a rather quiet area except for the occasional boat on the river. Great views of the Charleston skyline if you negotiate a true riverfront room.

Location worked for us as it's right beside the James Island bridge -- a quick drive across puts you right in the historic district. One of the churches just south of the market had all day parking for $6, plus Sundays meters are free. Also you have easy access to points south and north if you want to tour one of the plantations.

Enjoy your getaway! Anne, Burlington ON
