Nowadays we have the luxury of traveling when it suits us, unlike when we were younger and our kids' school schedules dictated our lives. The one time of year that I honestly prefer staying home is summertime. I think Toronto is at its loveliest when restaurant patios are open, neighborhood festivals abound and lovely weather is the rule, not the exception. There's also far less traffic with kids off school and many people at summer cottages up north and elsewhere.

What about you? Do you travel in summer? Where are you off to this year? If you're staying home, is it by choice or necessity?
