Subject: Re: Summer Plans? |
Good topic!
Always-on-the-go, as they say, our 'summer plans' are starting early this year with a 15 day trip next week downriver by bus and the Relais Nordik ferry to Blanc Sablon with stops at villages along the way. Blanc Sablon is the last village in Quebec on the Lower North Shore of the St Lawrence River. 4 km to the northeast is Labrador! The next morning, we'll be taking another ferry accross the Strait of Belle Isle to St Barbe, Newfoundland, and L'anse aux Meadows at the northern tip of the peninsula. We'll be staying at a B&B in St. Anthony for 3 nights to see the sights before returning to Blanc Sablon for a 2- night stay to see the Viking relics at Red Bay, Labrador, meet member of the Coasters Association in Old Fort Bay, Quebec and explore the area. The Relais Nordik ferry leaves each Friday at midnight for Rimouski, getting us back to our hotel there on the Monday evening. An early departure by bus on Tuesday wiil see us back in Montreal by 3pm. The rest of our summer plans include trips to Stratford and Niagara- on-the-lake to see some theatre, a six night stay in Cobourg, Ontario, and two week-ends in the Eastern Townships in August for, you guessed it, more summer theatre!
