Subject: Tolls and driving in Italy and France
Dear Ziners,

We haven't driven in Italy and France since 2001 and can't remember if there was anything special we need to know for the toll roads. I seem to recall that in Italy you must pick up the toll ticket first and then when you leave the toll road you must pay. What we can't remember is are there any instances when there must be exact change (Euro) at unmanned booths. Any help and information is always appreciated as this will be a long driving trip (3 months) with our leased car, starting and ending in Amsterdam but going as far south in Italy as Puglia, Calabria and Sicily and then back north via France.

Thanks, Jane, Boca Raton
